Killed in a crash at Ascot Speedway. 1932 Champcar champion, he was one of the top drivers of his era. Won his debut race in 1921 and later became a top sprint car driver. Before he went racing, he worked for General Motors in his home town. He then went well, but his career didn't really take off until he started racing in California in 1931 and linked up with Louis Meyer, driving Meyer's Jadson Miller to immense success.
