Youngster who was not a racing driver, but who, as a riding mechanic, sometimes tested the car. Hence his appearance at Indianapolis was along these lines, as well as acting as a relief driver - that said he had considerable talent, and led the 1913 '500 for 10 laps before developing mechanical problems with the car. He quit racing in 1913 to set up a cyclecar business with Jack Tower in Charlotte, Michigan. Later worked with Paige Detroit as a car tester and mechanic.
