Based in Jackonsville, Florida, Bob was killed in a sprint car crash in extremely unfortunate circumstances; Rick Decker's car blew its tyre, forcing its way in front of Bob, who was just behind him. Robinson had to swerve, crashed over the guardrail which unusually completely collapsed, and was thrown out to his death. A very good dirt track racer, Bob had a number of wins and speed records to his credit and had just won a race at Woodbridge two weeks before his death. Bob was also based in Daytona Beach, Florida, and during the racing season, Langhorne in Pennsylvania. Bob started racing in the early 1920's before becoming a race winner on the Eastern side of the States.
