Died in 2022 after a long battle against illness. From 2015 onwards, he suffered a number of heart-attacks, strokes and respiratory issues, but still continued to be involved as much as he could with Argentine motorsport, both current and historic. Has a circuit named after him in San Luis. Pairetti was very successful in sports and touring cars in his homeland, racing from 1962 to 1978 and winning over 20 major races and the title in 1968. Pairetti was largely based in Arrecife when he impressed in endurance events in the early 1960's, initially becoming well known for his liasion with Chevrolet. He also raced in Formula A and European Formula 3. Pairetti worked in journalism and broadcasting after his racing retirement.
