The forgotten winner of the 1911 race, yet Cyrus was only just old enough to compete in the event due to rules brought in. Patschke relieved Harroun for 31 laps in that event, but was also Joe Dawson's relief driver, sharing the 5th place finish as well. Cyrus was a mechanic, motorcycle racer and latterly ran an auto parts shop and dealership in his home town. Patschke was a racer, albeit rarely, in his own right, winning the Brighton Beach 24 Hour event in 1909 and 1910. Patschke continued to race for a few more years until 1914.
