Sadly killed in an accident in 2017 at Desoto Speedway, when he was involved in a crash. He, until his death, raced in his native State, in the Southern Shootout Sprint Car Series, where he raced on asphalt surfaces. Dave also worked as a car preparer and driver coach and ran the family (started by his dad) race and automobile mechanical garage and the parts supply shop in Tampa. USAC Silver Crown Champion in 2004 and 2006, Dave also raced in NASCAR and ARCA events in the past. Dave also won midget racing's stand-out event, the Turkey Night Grand Prix, in 2001 and 2003.
