Although Dick drove for a long time, he is also well known, more recently, for his racing team that he ran between 1983 and 2001. But racing takes up a mere fraction of the Simon story. First alternate for the 1960 US Olympic skiing team, Dick then turned to parachuting! A professional scuba-diving instructor, he now runs a huge boat dealership, Dick Simon Marine, in California. Dick is also a fully qualified pilot. Dick lives in Dana Point, California. In 2018, Dick announced that he was stopping all racing, after spending a few years in vintage events.
