Never made it into Formula 1 racing, despite numerous test drives. Went, initially, into the Porsche Supercup, winning the title in 1996, before switching to sportscars and GT racing- and has raced in FIA GT and GTOC. Since then, he has won 2 championships, the Spa 24 hours in 1999, Daytona in 2005 and Sebring in 2008. He also took a class win at Le Mans in 2009. He is in a number of endurance championships still, including the Le Mans Cup in 2023 and the European Le Mans Series in 2024.
