Moved to America and found success in Indy Pro, before switching to team ownership. He ran his Conquest team in Indy Pro, then the IRL and then in CART/CCWS. Continued running a team in the IRL until 2012, when he started running a sportscar team under the Conquest banner. After a few lean years of racing, Conquest returned to single-seaters in 2015 in the Indy Lights series but Eric then ran teams in the US Sportscar Series, Pirelli Challenge and the Ferrari Challenge (in which the Conquest team still competes) and much more recently, Pirelli GT4 America. In 2018, Bachelart even returned to racing after some years out, competing in the IMSA Prototype Challenge. Eric now lives in Indianapolis with his wife, but suffered tragedy when his son, Eliott, died suddenly in 2018. Eliott had raced briefly in the sport in the late 2000's.
