Raced before World War One as a youngster on inherited money, then fought in the First World War (where he was promoted to Sergeant), before two returns; one in the mid-twenties, and then the last being his Indianapolis 500 attempt which ended early when his car caught fire, burning Floyd badly. Unfortunately Floyd's life was met with numerous problems; he served many years in jail in Los Angeles. Before his incarceration, Floyd worked as a mechanic.
