Raced on, for a long while, despite a serious arm injury in 1974. Died suddenly in 2014. Until his death, he lived and worked on his farm near Monrovia, Indiana and was a sometime driving and team advisor, as well as being heavily involved in property development. Brother of Merle and Tony Jr, son of Tony Sr. Started his career in stock cars before progressing to midget cars. From 1968 onwards, he combined open-wheel racing with sprint cars. In the latter, he probably enjoyed the most success with over 40 wins in USAC events.
