Lives in Brisbane. Until the late 2000's he ran and taught at his own driving school, both for racing drivers and for road safety but was fighting a number of legal battles, which in March 2016, saw him convicted of raping a five year old girl, whilst also being found guilty of one count of indecent treatment. Brabham is serving a two year jail sentence accordingly. It was then revealed that Brabham was also jailed in 2009 for a similiar offence and managed to suppress the news from the outside world, possibly to protect his father who was still alive at the time. Brabham was the 1989 British Formula 3000 champion who also won the Sebring 12 Hours in 1991 with Geoff, his brother, and Derek Daly and won multiple races in British Formula 3 but unfortunately it was his spell at Life's hapless Formula 1 team that somewhat overshadowed all that. Amongst the people that Gary worked with as a driver tutor is comedian and actor Rowan Atkinson, but it is his crimes that he will be known for now.
