Italian lower formulae stalwart. Still alive, and lives in Milan. Bassi started his career in road races, appearing at the Mille Miglia in 1955, before becoming a long-time regular in Italian Formula 3, but also in sportscars. Bassi continued racing until 1970, with his last sportscar appearance being the Jarama 6 Hours race. Bassi was also the long-time test driver of Niccolo de Nora's ASA road and race sports car, being the chief test driver, deciding which routes would be undertaken, with Bassi more often than not, driving the Modena-Rome route.
