Italian Formula 3 graduate who got a brief crack of Formula 3000 in 2003. Remained in F3 in 2004, although later moved to Italian GT's. Now also works a safe driving instructor, but didn't stop entirely - he competed in rallies and made a surprise return to touring cars, and the Superstars series, in 2012 and carried on in the series, also called Euro V8, until 2014. In 2015, Giovanni moved back to the Italian GT Championship and continued in that and other endurance events in Italy in 2016. In 2017, Berton raced in the Porsche Supercup series and in 2019 was in the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia. He is still competing in rallying and returned to Italian GT's in 2022. He continues in the discipline in 2023.
