One of 3 racing sons of R.E. Donaldson, who built the Emden car. The others, Orville and Flavis, were racing alongside their father, when he was killed in a race at Spirit Lake in 1915. Unaware of his death, they raced on and came first and second. Their father's death meant Grant stopped racing and then took control of the business. Real name Harry, he also worked as a car dealer in Iowa and Washington State before settling in Arizona.
