Three times Interserie Champion, who was killed during the Nurburgring 1000kms race. As well as the Interserie titles, he was 1965 European Hill-Climb Champion in 1965. A superb sportscar driver, he won the Targa Florio twice, in 1966 and 1973. Small in stature, but a big-hearted and immensely popular driver, Muller likely would've had an even better career had he not had to focus on running the family electroplating company, which he inherited after his father died when Herbert was only 24 years old. Herbert had started racing prior to then, however, and had established himself in motorcycling and then hillclimbing before having to focus on business.
