Kept links with the sport until his death in 2010 at his home. Ran a Ferrari garage in Spa, as he was the Belgian importer for Ferrari. The last survivor of the 1953 Swiss Grand Prix, Jacques was an oprhan at 12. During WW2, he became a member of the Belgian Resistance and was jailed, but survived months of interrogation. It was partly due to the money inherited by being an orphan that led to him starting racing. Biography last updated 23 Jun 2011 |
