John built a sandwich shop empire whilst he was a teenager and then moved to Australia to develop it, which is where he started racing for fun. When he moved back to the US for business reasons, he started racing there, including Indy. No longer driving, he runs a number of restaurants, as well as a cosmetic company and an ATM business.
