Raced mostly in dirt-track races, from 1923 to 1933. Retired after his sister died suddenly and he had to help the family, and move back to Colorado for a while, however Los Angeles was his home from the mid 1920's. Alice, his sister, was found on a harbour district highway with the skull crushed. Initially murder was suspected but it was later confirmed she was hit by an automobile, but it had a crushing affect on the family. Krieger was also a regular driver on board ovals and also on the Pacific Coast racing scene. Before taking up four wheels, Krieger raced on motorcycles for a while after World War One.
