The son of former Sainsburys' supermarket Chief Executive Officer, Justin, Jordan is yet another graduate from karting. An attendee of the famed Repton boarding school in Derbyshire, King worked his way up from Formula Renault before really impressing in Formula Palmer Audi. King then followed Jonathan Palmer into his new series; the FIA Formula 2 series, becoming the then youngest driver in the category. In 2013, he competed in British Formula 3, winning the title, before moving on to European F3 and then subsequently, GP2. King also had a spell as a test and reserve driver for Manor F1, appearing in a few free practice sessions for them. In 2018, he moved to the US and Indycar, where he remained in 2019, but only in the Indianapolis 500 and other one-off drives. However to keep himself race-ready, he also returned to Formula 2 in 2019. After a year without a drive, he joined Mahindra's Formula E team as a development driver in 2021 and is also with Alpine as a simulator driver. He also acts as a consultant to a teamwear fashion business and is a television commentator on F1, F2 and F3.
