Now retired after a spell in touring cars in Argentina and he is a full-time commentator, journalist, broadcaster and racing instructor in Argentina and Uruguay. Caceres, who has lived near Punta del Este recently, has been instrumental as part of a company he's involved with, Sportlink, to organise and market effectively the Formula E race held in Uruguay, the first main international single-seater race in the country for years. Caceres came close to getting a Minardi drive in 2006, but when the team became Toro Rosso, the deal fell through. In 2003, Juan became the Iberian Formula BMW Junior Cup Champion and also raced in Spanish Formula 3 before his spell in Italian Formula 3000.
