Primarily a stockcar racer, Larry is now retired and still involved in the management of the Foyt teams in Indycar and NASCAR. However, he does still appear in the odd selected truck race for fun. Before taking up the team management role, Foyt raced in ARCA, ASA and NASCAR Busch stockcars, as well as 3 attempts at the Indianapolis 500, but actually started his career in single-seaters. Also has a bachelor's degree in communications from Texas Christian University.
