Died in 2012 after years of battling ill-health (He was suffering from dementia). As well as racing, he developed his hugely successful racewear business. Until recent poor health, he attended a number of historic festivals, although he managed a surprise appearance at Goodwood in 2008. Leston as a driver was a star in Formula 3 as well as racing in libre racing, sportscars and saloons, as well as rallying. His was a long career, starting in 1948 and then finishing, after a few breaks to concentrate on business, in 1973 in Production Saloon racing.
