Moved into Brazilian stock-cars after his US spell, but then spent a long time without a drive, bar some GT rides. Now retired from driving, and is heavily involved in Brazil's Paralympic Association, both with current events, and was also part of the organisational team for the successful Paralympic Games in Rio in 2016. Garcia's best result in CART was the Michigan 500 in 2000, where he finished eleventh, but he was a race-winner in Indy Lights, which followed spells in European Formula 3 and the British Formula Vauxhall series.
