Tragically killed during the last lap of the season, at Magny Cours, after colliding with Thomas Biagi. His car hit the back of Biagi, went into the air and crashed into a wall. It remains, thankfully, the only fatality in F3000. Campos was taken to hospital, but died of his injuries, aged only 19.
