Useful USAC driver, particularly in sprint cars. Later became a car builder. Now lives in Brownsburg, Indiana, where he is still working as an utility patent illustrator for a company called ASD Patent Art, who provide patent illustrations and machine manual illustrations to help inventors enhance their designs. Alderson qualfied from South Dakota School of Mines in mechanical engineering. He has since worked on machine design after racing and developed that to include product engineering, cad design and processing engineering. Although born in Nebraska, Alderson spent a lot of childhood and teenage years in Timberlake, South Dakota. Mark used to sell tyres for Goodyear whilst making it in racing and also studied astrology. Before racing, he used to appear in Joie Chitwood's stunt motorsport shows.
