Now a frequent endurance racer, who spent years in Grand-Am or ALMS, and also, from 2013, appeared in the WEC too. After a spell in the US Sportscar Series, he is now in the European Le Mans Series and the US Sportscar Series, IMSA challenge and the VLN Series. Jonsson won the 1991 Swedish Formula 3 title and prior to racing in the IRL, appeared in Scandinavian touring cars, European F3 and Formula Asia. Jonsson is also a qualified carpenter and has psychology and sports management degrees. He also works as a safety instructor, coach and owns his own motorsport parts shop.
