Astromega's Formula 3000 driver in 2004, Nico went to the Belgian Mini Challenge Series and F3 then in Formula Superleague. Switched to the Formula Le Mans Cup and won the title in 2009, and now appears in various endurance events, which have included the Blancpain Series and the US sportscar championship. In 2015, Nico was in the Belgian Racing Car Championship. In 2016, he returned to Blancpain and in 2017, was racing in the VLN Series. From 2018 onwards, he is also taking part in long-distance endurance events. Verdonck is also a driver coach, including for the Royal Automobile Club of Belgium, a demo and test driver for Mercedes for events in Belgium and Luxembourg, an endurance test driver and on top of all this, is also a commentator for Belgian television on Formula 1. He also does some event organising.
