In 2017, it paid dividends as when Felipe Massa was poorly for the Hungarian Grand Prix, Di Resta slotted in instead for his first Grand Prix in over 3 years. In 2022, he raced in sportscars as well as his broadcasting commitments and won his class at Le Mans in 2020. He remains in sportscars still. He is also director of his family's leisure establishments, including nightclubs, in his native West Lothian.
