Later went into motorsport journalism and amongst other things, he runs a motorsport website. Currently living in Columbus, Ohio. Paul won the 1996 Toyota Atlantic Rookie of the Year Award, finishing third in the championship and these achievements combined to seem him promoted to a drive in CART in 1997 with Dale Coyne's team. Paul then had a brief spell in Indy Lights in 1998 before retiring as a driver. His best result ended up being in his last CART race, finishing eighteenth at the Milwaukee Mile.
