Virtual unknown, who worked as an automobile mechanic in Indianapolis. Appeared as a riding mechanic in two Indianapolis 500 events - in 1930 and 1931 - for Russell Snowberger, but also tried to qualify for three races in his own right - unfortunately he didn't qualify for all three - apart from Indianapolis in 1932, he didn't make races at Altoona and Syracuse in 1930 either. Rice worked as a supervisor in an automobile factory for a long time in Indianapolis and also served in World War One.
