Younger brother of Derek, this highly regarded youngster was killed in a nasty crash at Oulton Park. He later became the posthumous British Formula 3000 Champion, despite dying in July, which showed how much he dominated the series. Paul, like his brother, started his racing in stock cars before moving into single-seaters aged seventeen, when he competed in Junior Formula Ford. He impressed in Formula Ford, holding his own against JJ Lehto, who was the star of British lower formulae at the time. International Formula 3000 didn't quite go the way Paul wanted, but there would've been no doubt Paul would've succeeded in the sport had he lived.
