Took over the Zakspeed company from his father, Eric, in the early nineties and also established the first permanent school for racing drivers in Germany in 1991. After a few difficult years, Peter and the company flourished and were still very much involved with the motorsport (including GT3 and the VLN series) and automotive world. They were focused on both historic racing and endurance racing, but the company as a whole also covers composites and restoring classic cars, to name just two activities. However, in 2018, Zakspeed were banned from racing for a year after they were found responsible for the manipulation of the Bosch control unit in the ADAC GT Masters series races which led to better results than normal. Peter is now involved with construction and tuning of racing cars, which includes ADAC GT cars.
