Son of a former motorcycle champion, this influenced his love of racing. A decent driver, who was always competitive, he suffered a number of mechanical breakdowns which stopped his career going in a different trajectory. Stopped his main career in 1982, but has carried on in non-single-seaters since then - in sportscars and touring cars especially, and still races to this day. In 2017, he was racing in the Super GT Cup class of the Italian GT Championship and in 2021, he was in the TCR Europe series. Still in touring cars in 2023 as he is in the Italian TCR Championship.
