Now lives in Stockport where he is a businessman, running an engineering consultancy company in Buxton. He is also a senior performance driving instructor, a professional driver for film and television and a driver coach. Ross as a racing driver, moved through Formula Ford 2000 to British Formula 3's National Class, where he greatly impressed in 1985. After a few years of racing in British Formula 3, with reasonable results, he gave Formula 3000 a go. He stopped racing after competing in the 1991 Zerex Saab Pro Series.
