Indy 500s:

14 (1981-1996)

Top and very experienced driver killed in a practice crash at Indianapolis, just six days after taking pole for the 1996 race. Brayton followed his father Lee in the sport, as to be honest, he knew little else as he often went to him to the race track, but instead of racing in sprint cars like his father, Scott went via karts and then Formula Ford before moving up to CART in 1981. Brayton died at the circuit that he had tended to make either his main or only race of the year as, by the time of his death, he had a few years without a regular drive.
