Highly rated driver who won the IRL/Indycar championship in 2003, 2008, 2013, 2015, 2018 and 2020, all with Ganassi, and he is still with them in 2023. Also won the Indy 500 in 2008 and Daytona in 2006 and 2015 and 2020. In 2012, he was awarded the Member of New Zealand Order of Merit for his career, akin to a MBE in Britain and in 2019, was appointed a Commander of the New Zealand Order of Merit, equivalent to a British CBE. Dixon is married to former British 800m athlete Emma Davies. Dixon has also raced in A1 GP, sportscars and V8 Supercars as additions to his main racing in recent years.
