Speed was the first American driver for some while when he arrived in Formula 1, where he raced for Scuderia Toro Rosso until being dropped in 2007. Scott has had a bit of a stop-start career since, but settled in NASCAR for a bit. In 2014, he moved into the new World Rallycross series and did well there, winning the title in 2015, 2016 and 2017 and then the American Rallycross (after the collapse of the World Series) in 2018. In 2019, he stays in the American Rallycross series. After a spell in karting, Speed started proper car racing in 2001 and won the Formula Russell title in his first year, which earnt him the intial attention and then subsequent contract with Red Bull, which took him all the way up to Formula 1.
