NASCAR veteran who switched to the IRL in 2009, but it went dismally. Briefly went back in NASCAR related series, but no longer races, and concentrates on his stunt driving and film stunt co-ordinator roles, but also bobsleighs, skis and does snowmobiling. He is involved in a management role with a racing team, so still has some ties to the sport. Stanton got into stunt driving through his father Stan before also taking up racing in stockcars in 1992 after a long kart career. In 2015, Stanton directed his first movie, Navy Seals vs Zombies. Stanton's Godfather is Paul Newman, whilst his mother is Penny McCoy, a former ski-ier who won bronze at the 1966 World Championships in the women's slalom.
