After a few brief spells in sportscars, and GT cars, Taki is now retired. Now runs a mining company in Africa as well as a management company, iwhich includes looking after racing drivers. A funny, genial, frank and totally self-depreciating man, Inoue started racing in saloon cars in Japan before moving to Britain and spending time on the Jim Russell Racing School. After two seasons in Britain, he returned to Japan before moving to Formula 3000 and Formula 1 in 1994. Inoue lives in Monte Carlo now and enjoys his cigars!
