Former GP2 driver, who then raced in Champ Cars. Gommendy has also been in the Formula Superleague series, driving for FC Porto, Bordeaux and Galatasaray. However, Tristan has been in endurance events recently, mainly in the European Le Mans Series, and was still there in 2016. In 2017, he moved to the World Endurance Championship. In 2018, he was in the European Le Mans Series and he remained there in 2021. Gommendy was the Macau Grand Prix winner in 2002, which was the same year he won the French Formula 3 title. More recently, he has worked as a driver coach and instructor and is now racing in historic championships much more frequently, including in the same car he won his 2002 French F3 title.
