A moribund Formula 3000 career led in turn to huge success in sportscars. Making his name in America, in IMSA, ALMS and Grand-Am, he can list wins at Daytona and Sebring and a class win at Le Mans to his credit and in 2005, the Grand-Am title. Now runs a team in the US Sportscar Series, with some of the drivers he ran being his old friend and driving partner, Max Angelelli, and his two sons Ricky and Jordan, both of whom have American citizenship due to Wayne's long residence in the States. Wayne did race until relatively recently but now concentrates on his team, which won at the Daytona 24 Hours in 2017, 2019, 2020 and 2021.
