Joined Honda in 1971, and worked in America for them, mainly on sportscars. Then he worked on the development of various racing cars, including F3000 cars. In 1989, he became a team manager at Honda's R & D division, taking over the engine performance department, amongst other roles. In 2002, he moved to chassis design, and is still an advisor to Honda's R & D department regarding chassis development, and holds senior technical roles at the firm still.
