These 1966 to 1985 results were initially compiled by Allen Brown, but these were in the very basic form required to track individual car histories. Since then further details, such as laps completed, qualifying times and so on, have been added from Rob Ryder's extensive database.

Sport Auto May 1969 pp88-93 (report uncredited). Race Report 3 p86 (by Eddie Guba). Motor Sport gave very little chassis number information, but with so few new cars having been produced for 1969, the situation was not very complicated. Motoring News itemised the cars meticulously.

Two entries were made by Lotus, Tyrrell-Matra, Brabham, McLaren and BRM, with one from Ferrari, plus privateers Walker/Durlacher, Frank Williams, Colin Crabbe, and Silvio Moser Racing Organisation who now had the ex-Williams BT24, smartly finished in red and financed by Charles Vogele. Autosport now included Tim Parnell's BRM as a privateer, this being a good time to distance himself from the infighting at Bourne. Amon had two cars, 0017 and a new 0019, and Stewart had one of the old MS10s as a spare. Crabbe's Cooper's engine may have been an older Tipo 9 unit. Surtees had the old 126-02 chassis as a spare, and the situation at BRM was on the verge of boiling over, Surtees' dissatisfaction being made clear to anyone who would listen. Autosport got the chassis numbers of both P126s wrong, calling them P133s. There were 16 entries and only 19 cars present.

After the collapsed aerofoils at Barcelona, the Monaco organisers tried to agree a voluntary ban on wings, but Ken Tyrrell pointed out this could never work, so the various members of the CSI present at the event put their heads together after first practice and decided to ban high wings immediately on safety grounds. Tyrrell was furious, as the new MS80 was specifically designed around wings, but the race went ahead with most cars only wearing front wings, the Lotus and Ferrari teams finding time to attach upswept tails.
