Notes on the cars:

  1. BRM V16 Mk I 'P15' [No 2] (José Froilán Gonzalez): Raced by Peter Walker 1950-51, Ken Wharton 1952-54, Gonzalez 1952-53, Moss and Reg Parnell 1952 and by Ron Flockhart once in 1954. Damaged during Wharton's win at Glover Trophy, Goodwood Apr 1954, stripped and scrapped.
  2. Gordini T16 [0034-GC] (Maurice Trintignant): Possibly raced late 1952, and from 1953-55 with 2.5 engine. Driven by Trintignant 1953, Pollet, Loyer, Martin, Behra, Bucci and Wacker 1954. To Schlumpf Collection and still in Musée Nationale 1994.
  3. Gordini T16 [0032-GC] (Roberto Mieres): Works car 1952-57, 2500 engine from 1954. Driven by Behra and Manzon 1952, Mieres and Schell 1953, Pollet (once) and Behra 1954, Manzon, da Silva Ramos and Pollet 1955, Manzon 1956 (winning Naples GP), Simon 1957. In Musée Henri Malartre at Rochetaillé 1961-90.
  4. BRM V16 Mk I 'P15' [No 3] (Ken Wharton): Raced by Ken Wharton 1952-53. Car very heavily damaged in his crash at Albi May 1953 and the wreck was scrapped. A car with this number has been in the Donington Collection since the mid 1990s.
  5. BRM V16 Mk I 'P15' [No 1] (Juan Manuel Fangio): Raced by Ray Sommer 1950, Reg Parnell 1950-53, Fangio 1952-53 and Gonzalez 1952. Retired after the 1953 season but retained by Owen Organisation as an exhibition car. Bought by Dan Marguiles for a Greek consortium at Christie's Motorfair auction in October 1981. Subsquently sold to the National Motor Museum Trust. Retained 2007.
  6. Talbot T26C-DA [110 053] (Yves Giraud-Cabantous): Built in 1950 using parts from '110 003' and raced for the works by Martin, Chaboud and Giraud-Cabantous in 1950 then by Rosier as a private entry in 1951. Driven by Trintignant for Ecurie Rosier in 1952, then Giraud-Cabantous 1952-53. Owned by Marceau Hauret 1955 and Houdayer (Paris) 1981. Raced from 1987-2000 by François d'Huart (Belgium) as '100105'.
  7. Gordini T16 [0031-GC] (Harry Schell): The first six-cylinder car, run by the works from 1952 until 1957, with 2300 engine in early 1954 and 2500 engine after that. Driven by Manzon and Behra 1952, Schell and Trintignant 1953, Pilette, Berger and Guelfi 1954, Pollet and Sparken 1955 and Burgraff 1957. In Collection Huet 1983. More recent history unknown.
  8. Talbot T26C [110 011] (Duncan Hamilton): Talbot-Lago T26C chassis '110 011' was Johnny Claes car in 1948-50 and then sold to Duncan Hamilton (and Fotheringham-Parker) and raced 1951-53. Stored in France until 1955 when Hamilton sold it to Allan Freeman in New Zealand who raced it through to 1961. It was bought by Joe Hepworth in 1963 and returned to England; then via other UK and French owners until sold to Bernie Ecclestone 1996. Retained 2002.
  9. Maserati-Platé 4CLT-48 [1598] (Giovanni de Riu): Maserati records show this car going to 'B. Bira' 23 Sep 1948. Bira raced 1948 British GP, 1949 Argentine Temporada and 1949 European season. Retained 1950 being used as Platé team car from Pescara. Raced by Harry Schell for Enrico Platé in 1951 then becoming one of two cars extensively rebuilt as Platé-Maseratis for 1952. Probably raced by Giovanni de Riu in F2 in 1953. Then sold via de Graffenried to 20th Century Fox for film work and then acquired by Tom Carstens (Tacoma, WA). Subsequent history unknown.
