Notes on the cars:

  1. Brabham BT28 (Giovanni Lo Voi): Giovanni Lo Voi had a Brabham BT28 for Italian F3 in 1970, competing in most races that season. He returned for the new 1600cc F3 in 1971, initially still using the 1-litre engine, before upgrading to a Ford twin cam in time for Imola in May. He retained the car for a single race in 1972 when Autosprint recorded the chassis numbers of most other F3 cars but just recorded a dash for Lo Voi's. Some sources have this car as chassis BT28-35 but that car has a well-documented career in the UK. Nothing more known.
  2. March 733 [713M-1?] (Livio Franzoso): New to Eifelland Wohnwagenbau for Hannelore Werner to race in German and European F3 in 1971. To Heinz Lange for 1972 but sold early in the season to Scuderia Italia and raced by Piergiovanni Tenani, Clois Avigni and "Shangri-Là" (Romano Martini) in Italian F3 that year. Sold to Livio Franzoso for 1973 and continued to be raced by him in Italian F3 until the end of 1975. Franzoso entered the car as a 733 so it may well be one of the unidentified 733s raced in Italy after that date. History then unknown until Marcel Biehl (Mönchengladbach, Germany) posted pictures of the unrestored car on Facebook in November 2013. Immaculately restored and raced by Biehl in 2015.
  3. Chevron B17 [17.70.09] (Adolfo Corazza): New to Carlo Scarambone (Italy) and raced in Italian F3 in 1971, initially with a Novamotor Ford twin cam and later using an Alfa Romeo engine. Retained for 1972 but Scarambone was rarely able to qualify for race finals that season. Subsequent history unknown.
