Former President of the FIA. Son of the far right politician, Sir Oswald Mosley, Max was a barrister and racing driver before forming the successful March racing team. Due to his father's Nazi sympathies, Mosley spent a lot of his life abroad and so became fluent in French and German. Any political career, whether with his father's short-lived far-right party, or with any party, quickly became difficult because of his parentage and so when he went racing, found a world where they weren't either concerned or aware and so stayed in the sport for decades. After March, he became legal advisor to FOCA, and stayed in the business end of the sport, so that when it came to candidature of the FIA presidency, he was a natural choice. Was head of the FIA between 1993-2009. Since then he concentrated on his legal career and was a legal consultant, although a lot of that time was spent fighting a case against tabloid accusations about his sex life. Died after a long battle against cancer in 2021 and it later transpired at an inquest, that Mosley shot himself dead having learned he only had weeks to live.
