Notes on the cars:

  1. Brabham BT28 [22] (Luigi Battistello): Delivered to Australian Colin Crang in September 1969 for use in British F3 but not actually raced until a libre race at Brands Hatch in early December. Wrecked in testing at some point in late November. Sold to Luigi Battistello for Italian F3 in 1970, Retained by Battistello for 1971, initially with a Ford twin cam and then with an Alfa Romeo engine later in the season. Run again by Battistello in Italian F3 in 1972.
  2. Brabham BT28 (Giovanni Lo Voi): Giovanni Lo Voi had a Brabham BT28 for Italian F3 in 1970, competing in most races that season. He returned for the new 1600cc F3 in 1971, initially still using the 1-litre engine, before upgrading to a Ford twin cam in time for Imola in May. He retained the car for a single race in 1972 when Autosprint recorded the chassis numbers of most other F3 cars but just recorded a dash for Lo Voi's. Some sources have this car as chassis BT28-35 but that car has a well-documented career in the UK. Nothing more known.
  3. March 713M [6] (Roger Hurst): New to John Bisignano (Denver, CO) and raced in British F3 in 1971 with support from Liggett & Myers L&M tobacco brand. Sold in October 1971 to Roger Hurst of Lenham Hurst and raced in F3 in 1972 and 1973. By 1973 the car was being described on occasion as a 723, a 733, a March Falconer, and even as a Lenham LM1. Last raced by Hurst in November 1973. In March 1974, the car was advertised by Low Cost Racing who mentioned that it had Falconer bodywork and was fitted with a Holbay R70 engine for Formula 4. It is likely that this car remained in F4 for some time and could well be the Falconer-bodied 713M raced by Jim Burrows (Ilford, Greater London) in 1975. Subsequent history unknown. A car with this identity was advertised in Italy in 2012.
  4. Chevron B17 [17.70.05?] (Maximillian Plass): New to Jürg Dubler (Oberhasli, Switzerland) and raced in European F3 in 1970 using Novamotor engines, and winning at Montjuich Park, Brno and Zandvoort. Unknown in 1971 but probably the car run by Auto Ascher for Klaus Reisch in the new 1600cc F3, using an Alfa Romeo engine. Then likely to be the Chevron B17-Alfa raced by Maximillian Plass (Munich, Germany) in F3 in 1972. Subsequent history unknown.
