Now retired from racing. Works as a sales rep in Indianapolis, where he now lives. He does also run a driver development program for young drivers. Michner was better known as a sprint and midget car driver. In 1994 and 1995, Michner came second in the USAC Midget Championship before attempting to switch over to the Indy Racing League in the hope of competing at the Indianapolis 500. He also tested a NASCAR car in 1998, but suffered head and leg injuries which setback his career a little and had a brief spell in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.
