1996 winner, son of Bob, brother of Jaques. Has been in and out of a drive in recent years and has also appeared in the Craftsmen Truck series recently and in stock car events. Hasn't had a long-term drive for a while and now does a lot of work locally in Vail, but did return in his own car for the 2013 Indy 500 and again in 2014 and then also in 2015 and then again in 2016. He repeated this in 2017 but there was nothing for 2018. As well as winning the Indy 500, he also became the 2000 IRL Champion. Buddy's first love was ski-ing and he competed in this sport initially before taking up karting and motocross in the early 1980's. Lazier, whose first name is actually Robert, like his father, also raced in Can-Am before making it in single-seaters.
